Significance of real-time petro-physical data for an optimal remote geosteering operation in complex geological reservoirs

In the last decade, oil industry has transitioned from primarily drilling vertical wells to a majority of extended reach complex horizontal with help geosteering techniques for better reservoir and production efficiencies. The overall objective well placement helped maximize contact by keeping trajectory in pay zone quality real-time data, especially these uncertain times pandemic due COVID-19. This paper illustrates immense impact data feeds (special logging tools/images) at operation centers full remote expert support multidisciplinary teams. proper communication mechanism is also helpful share information across asset teams timely manner drill remotely. To achieve desired objective, experts monitor evaluate petro-physical landing design path accordingly stay zone/horizon. During this collaborative integrated process, geological variables like architecture, permeability porosity distribution, fluid contacts are being used update models real-time, based on latest subsurface management, operational performance decision making.
